Ask Sean McGinnis of http://www.longislandpcdoctor.com any computing question and he will answer it here.

Is It Time For My Business To Invest In A Server?
Well, before I move on with the answer to that question, there are a couple of buzzwords that a business owner should become familiar with.  I will briefly explain them in basic layman’s terms and without the techie babble.  The two terms are Peer-to-Peer and Client/Server Networks.

Secure Data Destruction: Why it's important.
What is Data Destruction? Data destruction is the process in which your data is completely erased from your media, be it a Hard Drive, DVD, or CD. Many people and even IT professionals have a large misconception of how to really erase all of your sensitive data for good, to make it completely unrecoverable.

Wireless Worries
Do you have a wireless network at home or in the office? If your answer is yes, then I ask another question, How good is the wireless security? Wireless makes all of our lives very easy, but if your security is not right, it can make your life a mess.

Did you know that most wireless routers and access points ship with no wireless security enabled by default? Did you also know that there are tons of lists floating around the Internet with default user names and passwords for the administrative login to your wireless device? Below I will explain the dangers of having weak or no wireless security.

The First of Many
In this, the first of hopefully many columns I will write for the Long Island biz2biz, I will try to address som common computer Problems.  In future columns I hope to address the problems that you viewers submit.  To submit a question for me to answer post it in the Computing seciont of the Business Networking Forum HERE>

Is your computer slow, having pop-ups, takes forever to start or restart, or generally is not performing as it used to? This could be caused by Mal-ware. Mal-ware is any form of  infection your computer has, and it will cause serious performance issues over time. The more and more you collect, the greater and faster the decrease in system stability and performance will be. Mal-ware can be considered spyware, adware, Viruses, Key Loggers, Browser Helper Objects(BHO) better known in the field as a Browser Hijacker Object, Track-Ware, and many other forms.
